New techniques in polymer clay collage!

WARNING: These techniques are highly addictive!
ABOUT POLYMER CLAY
Polymer clay is an amazing art medium. It is mostly used for jewelry and making 3-dimensional sculptural shapes. My technique is like a sculptural quilt. It is pieced, very textured, very tactile, and is designed to decorate a wall. Polymer clay is malleable, blend-able, stamp-able, paint-able and more, a ridiculously versatile medium. It accepts other art mediums and incorporates them into itself like acrylic paint, alcohol paint and stamps, and even some transfers from inkjet printers. It has memory, it can retain complex information as you build and reduce canes, keeping colors separate, or you can decide to make it blend beautifully into a gradient. It is like having a sheet of malleable acrylic paint that you can mix and manipulate and will not cure (or dry) until you want it to. |
